Gadahn still at large in Pakistan
    Atlanta Leader
    Tuesday 9th March, 2010

An American-born al-Qaeda spokesman, Adam Gadahn, who was supposedly captured in Pakistan over the weekend, has escaped an intelligence dragnet after all.

Pakistani intelligence agents who said they had arrested Gadahn have now announced the captured man appears to be another American with the alias Abu Yahya Majadin al-Adam.

He was found in the city of Karachi.

Pakistani officials said Monday the man they arrested only had a similar name to Gadahn, which had confused the issue.

Gadahn, 31, a California-born spokesman for al-Qaeda, often appears in videos calling for attacks against the United States and other Western countries.

The United States has offered up to $1 million for his arrest.
